Travelers Rest Man Enjoys Nice Payday For Historic Jug | WSPA

Last week a there was an article on a local news website about a man who sold an old, ugly jug. He originally found the jug in 1959 on some property that he had just bought. He sold it to his father-in-law for $25, then bought it back for the same price from his mother-in-law when her husband died. It turns out this just was apparently made in 1836 by a man known as "Dave the Slave" (which is how his ceramic works were signed) even though it was not signed, it is believed to be his work. It was auctioned off recently for $13, 000.

This is the type of story all people, no matter who you are, dream of being able to relate as their story. My closest dream find is an ugly green German vase with a painting on the side signed by Danilo. Research shows there are a couple very similar offered for sale at $600.

Take a look here and see what you can find, that in a couple of years, may help you haul in a bundle. Have fun Searching!
