Black Angus

Black Angus.

I was driving home this evening and saw a field full of very large black 'cows'. My first impression was that they were Black Angus 'cows'. And I wondered to my self (then said to the wind)...Are there other colors of Angus? Brown Angus? White Angus? Caramel Angus? What makes a 'cow' Angus? I know 'oreo cows' are called that because of their coloring. Does Angus mean black in some other language and if it does isn't it redundant to call those 'cows' Black Angus?
