Pollyanna

Do you remember the movie Pollyanna? Haley Mills played a little girl (of course orphaned) sent to live with her aunt (Jane Wyman), whom she was named after. Staunch Aunt Polly really is not interested in having a child in her house, Pollyanna wanders around looking for things to do around town, making friends with friendless people, teaching them a game her father taught her called "The Glad Game". The game is basically, You can find something good about any situation. The term, Pollyanna Principal, comes from this story.

Written by Eleanor H. Porter in 1913, Pollyanna is a classic novel also has several sequels written by Ms. Porter and others. Several movie versions include 1920 with Mary Pickford, 1960 with Haley Mills, 1973 a UK TV series with Elizabeth Archard, 1986 an animated Japanese TV series, 1989 with Keshia Knight Pulliam. Seems like it might be time for another version, don't you think?

If I had to have a have a complex or a syndrome, I am going to go for the Pollyanna one. Maybe I will start now.

Have Fun Searching.
